# Drone shows in Venice

Yes, we fly drone shows in Venice. We have flown one show here, up to 100 drones, for Studio DRIFT · Ocean Space. Every show in Venice flies under an airspace approval from the aviation authority for that site and slot, with a safety zone the crowd does not enter. Below: the shows, and what flying here takes.

What to know

## Flying in Venice: what to know

| | |
|---|---|
| Airspace approval | Every show in Venice needs an approval from the aviation authority for the exact site, date and time window. We apply for it. Near an airport or in controlled airspace it takes an exemption and more lead time, so start early. |
| Site survey | Our technical crew checks the take-off area, the safety zone between drones and audience, sightlines and the surroundings before we confirm. Parks, waterfronts and large open grounds in Venice tend to work best. |
| Weather window | Drones fly in wind up to 25 mph (40 km/h) and cope with a few drops of rain. We plan a weather window and, where the event allows, a back-up slot. The pilot on site makes the final call. |
| Local partners | We coordinate with the venue, the local authority and, where needed, local production partners in Venice so the show fits your run-of-show, your permit and your crowd plan. |
