The story behind the lights
The show opened with Franchise Freedom, the starling-flock performance that started the drone light show as an art form, moving over the beach and reacting to the crowd. Then a wolf rose over Copacabana, and two million people howled at the full moon together. The finale turned the fleet into a screen: Shakira's eyes, opening over the audience just before she walked on stage.
