Drone Stories

A rising sun for the countdown

Rotterdam New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve 2020 fireworks were banned in the Netherlands and people celebrated at home. Rotterdam chose drones. Behind the Erasmus Bridge our drones formed a rising sun that turned into the countdown to 2021, shown on TV.

A new day

Together with Mothership, Studio DRIFT and the City of Rotterdam we made a light artwork about a new day: after a year of lockdowns, a sun coming up over the city. The working title was pure Rotterdam: “Das pas Oud en Nieuw”.

Made for the screen

Crowds were not allowed, so the show was made for people at home, with the Erasmus Bridge and the skyline as the backdrop. We fly New Year’s Eve in Amsterdam too: see our Amsterdam New Year’s Eve show.

Have a story that belongs in the sky?

Tell us the event, the place and the audience. Together we'll work out whether a drone show makes the impact you're after, and what it takes.
