Above the Teatro Massimo
The show flew above Palazzo Borromeo’s Teatro Massimo, the terraced garden theatre of statues and obelisks at the heart of the island. Guests watched from the garden below as the drones drew white outlines of arches and terraces in the sky, as if the theatre continued upward into the night.

Louis Vuitton asked DRIFT to create a custom aerial performance for the show. The studio of Ralph Nauta and Lonneke Gordijn designed the artwork and its creative direction; Louis Vuitton provided the music. Drone Stories took care of the production, the technical programming and the flight. Like Louis Vuitton in Hong Kong, it flew under the Studio DRIFT label.
An island on a lake
An island asks for its own logistics. The drone cases were lifted onto the island by helicopter from the lakeshore. The drones took off from the highest point of the island and flew a show area that sat half above the gardens and half above the water. Security boats kept the water under the drones clear of other boats during the flight. Read more about our drone shows in Italy.
